‘This year has seen big changes for our son at school. The school have worked with him, listened to him and respected his thoughts and choices. They have included him in decision making about his own path in such a positive way. He is happy, settled and achieving way above expectations, which makes him feel pride in himself. This is quite an achievement! He looks forward to coming to school in the morning…. Also, quite an achievement! We are very proud of him, but much more importantly, he is proud of himself and of the school.’

‘I am so proud of what my boy has achieved at Westbourne school. The staff have so much patience and over many years, have worked so hard to help him achieve academically and at the same time have supported his learning with skilled therapeutic input, creating an environment where he has matured and grown, he is now proud of his own progress. They have taken a child who was noncompliant, aggressive, who refused to work, was unable to make or maintain friendships and completely turned him around. He is thriving, has friends and a positive view of himself and his future which is lovely to see. Most importantly, he is happy. Thank you all. ‘

‘The young person has been out of school for some time due to home life as a looked after child, and we have regular meetings about supporting him back to school, and he meets with his tutor on a Friday to help build the relationships to support him back to school and this has been really helpful for him. Staff have been brilliant in supporting the young person to be able to remain a part of the school.’
