Salary: Up to £42,000 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week; Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent, Term Time only

We're looking for a Head of Upper School to join our team at Westbourne School in Sutton-in-Ashfield. As Head of Upper School, you will be an outstanding educationalist and want to ensure the school is leading light for our young people and their families.
About us
Westbourne School caters for children aged 11-18 and we are growing to 85 pupils across two sites. You will be responsible for planning and delivering various subjects across the curriculum. Differentiation and individualised learning strategies are vital skills required to meet the needs of all our pupils who will have had varying degrees of success in their educational lives.

About the Role
- Undertake the normal responsibilities of the class teacher
- Be a member of the middle leadership team
- Assist the Head of School in leading and managing the school
- Undertake such duties as are delegated by the Head of School
- Play a major role under the overall direction of the Head of School in formulating and reviewing the School Improvement Plan and the aims and objectives of the school by:
- Establishing the policies through which they shall be achieved
- Leading and managing staff and resources to that end
- Monitoring progress towards their achievement.
Experience
- Demonstrable experience of working with children and young people in a classroom or other learning environment
- Experience of promoting and supporting independence
- Experience of working with and supporting children and young people with special educational needs
