Job Title: Catering Assistant
Salary: £6,500 – £9,500 per annum
We are looking for a responsible, caring Catering Assistant to join our fantastic team at Westbourne School, Sutton in Ashfield. As Catering Assistant, you will help support our children and young people in their daily lives, ensuring they are well fed, comfortable, and healthy.
This is a great opportunity to work as part of a team committed to helping children with varied and complex needs. You will work alongside our Catering Manager to prepare and serve meals to our pupils and our team.
Our Catering Assistants carry out an essential and role to provide meals required by the children and young people in our care. You will take pride in maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen and dining area and prepare the dining hall before and after serving. For many of our children consistency is key and our Catering Assistants take time to make sure everything is as it should be for a smooth lunchtime service.
When it comes to looking after our children, we never settle for second best. We are looking for a Catering Assistant, who shares our vision to build incredible futures by empowering vulnerable young people in the UK, to be happy and to make their way in the world.
Previous experience in a similar setting would be great but isn’t essential as full training will be given, and the right motivation, personal qualities and levels of resilience are just as important. This role is ideal for people working in customer facing industries including retail, hospitality, and leisure, looking for a new role that makes a real difference to children’s lives and futures.
You will be quality focused, efficient, able to work at pace and motivated to help us provide a safe, caring environment where every child can thrive.

Westbourne School caters for children aged 11-18 and aims to grow to 49 pupils. You will be responsible for planning and delivering various subjects across the curriculum. Differentiation and individualised learning strategies are vital skills required to meet the needs of all our pupils who will have had varying degrees of success in their educational lives.
